Microsoft expands Xbox digital game gifting to all users

The option to buy a game as a gift will appear on its game hub page.

Sega has opened a teaser website for the next entry in the Valkyria series, inviting fans to make all sorts of specuations about the game. Using the feature is a simple matter of selecting "Buy as gift" on a game page and whoever you choose to send the title to will receive a code that enables them to download their gift.

The move follows the wide launch of the Xbox One X and comes just in time for the holiday season.

Another interesting detail is that the teaser website has already versions in different languages including Japanese, Chinese, Korean, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, perhaps suggesting a nearly simultaneous release in those markets. Even if you don't plan on keeping it past the first month, it'll get you early access to the Black Friday sales which start on November 17th - an entire week early - for Xbox Live Gold members. There are a few restrictions to keep in mind, however. Game gifting has been one of the most highly requested features on Xbox Live and now it's a reality for everyone.
