Golovin has been allocated the number 17 shirt for the new season, as Monaco prepare to wrestle the French title back from the grasps of free-spending rivals Paris Saint Germain. The CSKA Moscow starlet joins the Ligue 1 giants on a five-year contract.

Golovin, who scored 13 goals in 113 appearances for CSKA, has been on Chelsea's radar since impressing for Russia at the World Cup.

Golovin was a key member of the Russia team which reached the quarter-finals of their home World Cup this summer.

Golovin has signed for an undisclosed fee, though reports suggest the figure is in the region of £20m. "I am now very much looking forward to meeting the staff and my new teammates and to get going" - Golovin said during his presentation. The transition from one club to another will only be discussed after it is completed here.

Ready for a new challenge! After making his debut against Mordovia Saransk back in 2015, the midfielder has gradually become an integral part of CSKA Moscow's senior side.

Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League spot. And the Blues have failed to replace any one of them so far.

Golovin is known for his dribbling and distribution of the ball from the midfield. While the World Cup was still in play, his move to Stamford Bridge looked to be near enough a done deal.

"He already has solid experience in the Russian first division and internationally".

Naturally his exploits in the quadrennial tournament alerted some of the continent's elite clubs, and Chelsea were believed to be frontrunners to secure the services of the Siberian footballer.
